I have used these hammers for years and they are always great. I bought this hammer to replace mine that was out of work. The head is twisted on the shaft and it's almost impossible to hit anything square. I will run and go with the prototype as I am no longer happy with the quality of estwings.
Slightly curved. The head is painted blue and the neck is silver, but where they meet the blue is VERY uneven and jagged. The end of the ball is also ground very roughly and is not entirely smooth. I mean it doesn't matter as it's a bang and will work as such, but I think it should at least be stated for what it really is.

The packaging was in good condition, which leads me to believe that it was sent in this condition from the warehouse or from the seller. There's virtually no thumping, and you can rock it all day until your arm starts to tire.
