Exactly what the smith ordered.

Good hammer for blacksmith training. It's not too heavy and has just the right shape to push hot metal where you want it. The pen feels good in my hand and it wasn't too difficult to use for three hours (which is the longest session I've ever had).

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • High price

Good hammer, should last the rest of my life

This is a dependable hammer. Not too heavy for a 60 year old with a carpenter's arm, but still heavy enough to get the job done faster. The handle gives a good grip and I haven't experienced any vibration fatigue. Nice replacement for my 60 year old d-pad that I left on the mountain.

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Damaged

Solid and well made

Very well made, strong handle and head connection. I looked at a lot of brands, most of them were casually assembled with ill fitting handles that looked like they were just waiting to come loose. The reliable connection of Estwing hammers easily copes with demo work. Fit and finish are excellent

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Reliability

Not made in USA oriented

Looks like a decent hammer but when estwing advertises "Commitment to American Made Today and Tomorrow" I wasn't expecting to receive a Taiwan made product. I have nothing against Taiwan, but when you're going out of your way to support jobs in America, it's frustrating to feel betrayed by a company that twists the truth to get your money.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Crumpled

I would prefer the American Eastwing.

I was looking for a cross forged hammer that was heavier than my 2 pound Estwing hammer I was using so I ordered the 64 ounce hammer sold here. Received this item and found it was made in Taiwan which was disappointing as all other Estwing hammers I own are made in the USA. This hammer works great and is well balanced. The face is softer than the all-metal Estwing cross hammer I have, and the fiberglass handle doesn't seem to dampen vibration any better or worse than the all-metal Estwing…

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Some bugs

Estwing always perfect

If you can handle the squeaky double-toothed plastic handle, this is a really good little cross-pin hammer. Only 2-1/2 pounds so quite small but handy. I have a 1 pound machinist's hammer that my grandfather made out of billet steel in the 1920's and it's pretty much the perfect next size up "persuasion tool".

Pros
  • BALANCE AND CHARACTER - The strongest and most durable striking tool on the market
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
