Works as hoped

There was a question as to whether it was possible to boot from the inserted disc. I found my late 2011 Mac Book Pro boots in like new condition in this caddy. I am very happy and satisfied with this device. Now my Mac Book Pro has 2 SSD drives inside. The added benefit of an SSD is that it uses less power, so the battery lasts longer.

Excellent for replacing an optical drive with an additional drive

Used to replace an optical drive with a second drive. It was a simple install on my MBP. The construction material is ok but definitely sufficient to carry Solid State. If you're planning on installing a mechanical drive I'd be a bit more cautious as it doesn't come with rubber stabilizers. Overall very happy with this product.

Ideal.: Computers and Accessories

As advertised. Works and fits, not difficult to install. I did everything myself. The seller included screws and a screwdriver. Nothing else is needed. I now have more storage space on my Late 2011 MacBook Pro.

Fits perfectly on my 2011 MacBook Pro This is a fairly easy process if you are computer savvy. I've been into stuff like this since I was a kid, but there are tons of videos online if you need help.
