Not CAT5e - 100Mbps Link Speed โ€‹โ€‹Limit

I bought this to connect my MacBook Pro to my router in my office about 45ft (from the cable). I bought a thunderbolt to ethernet adapter and hooked everything up. I thought everything was fine when the internet was working, but when I actually looked at my network connections, I noticed that the adapter was limited to 100Mbps. After investigating what could be wrong, it came down to either my router settings or the ethernet network itself. Other devices with shorter Cat5e cables worked fine at

Pros
  • Acceptable
Cons
  • Only available in Black

Great cable. Cheap plastic. Works perfectly.

The cable is great for PlayStation TV. I needed a wired connection because a wireless connection just doesn't work properly no matter how good your home network is. This 50ft cable runs around the door and around my bedroom from the extension cord to the PlayStation TV. The connection was stable at 100MB (I don't think the PSTV supports gigabit and the ethernet extender definitely doesn't. The router does however) and actually let me enjoy the PS4 link option. I can finally complete the MGS5โ€ฆ

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • There are some nuances

This is not CAT5 cable

This is not CAT5 cable. Couples are not twisted. This is a phone base cable. The color coding is also not standard. I bought a 50ft cable as I needed a 20ft cable to fish through the wall and reconnect to the special wallfish. After I unplugged one end saw that this cable wasn't what I wanted. Apparently, this is the same cheap Chinese cable that other buyers have complained about. Would return apart from the fact that I cut the cable before realizing it wasn't made with twisted pair.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • boring packaging

Not really CAT5e (or 50 feet).

It is foolish to think that a 50ft CAT5e cable is actually a 50ft CAT5e cable. I ordered this because I needed EXACTLY a 50 foot cable. It measures 46 feet 10 inches. A full 3 feet 2 inches shorter than advertised. It pales in comparison to the real problem that it's not even CAT5e. There are no twisted pairs here, there is no fixed core and the color coding is not standard. Actually, this product deserves zero stars, but unfortunately it is not an option.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Compatibility

DOA - no communication between switches

This cable was DOA, although it seemed to work for a 'slow' device, it failed to connect when used between two switches. I tried for a long time to figure out the problem, even bought a new switch - in the end I went to the store to get a new cable and it worked fine. All the hassle, time and expense of a bad cable. Revain then refuses to lend as it has been a little over 30 days. Next time I'll think twice before buying Revain cables!

Pros
  • Done
Cons
  • Minor issues

DO NOT ORDER THIS CABLE. LOST TIME

Got the first batch of this cable, connected the cable from the computer and the router, the cable turned out to be defective. The display on the router or PC is off and the PC does not recognize the network. I requested a replacement cable, the replacement cable was sent promptly, I plugged in the cable from my PC and router, and the same thing. No light on the PC or router and a second bad cable in two batches. I've learned my lesson, if the price seems too low to be true, that's exactly what

Pros
  • Stable test results
Cons
  • Some little things

nope! The Best in Electronics Computers and Accessories

You Get What You Pay For. I bought this to work from my router on my gaming PC on another floor. My computer's Wi-Fi antenna was not working and I had a lot of disconnects. So I saw that and I was like, 'What the hell? It's the best, so if it doesn't solve my problem, I can return it." Well, I got distracted and didn't use my computer much, so I didn't bother running the cable until the return was CLEAR At first I thought everything was great. But it wasn't until a few minutes after a good game

Pros
  • There's Some Truth
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Not the best CAT-5 in the Computers & Accessories category

I should have heeded the warnings of other reviews but decided to give it a try because I have a 50 foot cable to a good needed price. As always, you get what you pay for. The first thing I noticed when I took it out of the plastic bag was that it didn't feel like 50ft and was incredibly thin. I've worked in tech support for a long time, so I've been working with my share of cables, and this one just didn't feel right. Second, it was NOT the 50 feet it took me to run my router to my homeโ€ฆ

Pros
  • understandable even for the old ones
Cons
  • almost everything is there
