Got the orange vanilla scent and was very excited to smell it because of all the good reviews, so I gave it the open and sniff immediately after receiving it, which was a very bad idea. Based on pictures, I thought I was going to get something much bigger than what actually came. It’s TINY for the price. I can get a 3-pack of traditional Dove soap for $5 or so, but this one bar is a little smaller than a credit card. I get the whole eco-friendly thing, and I appreciate that they pay their employees a living wage, but all of that factored together still should not make a single bar of soap so expensive. I usually get the cheap soap, going with quantity over quality. Gave this stuff a try and it works so much better. No dry or itchy skin after showering. You can get better deals from their website!

So far, I've used it twice and I really like it. I wish it was a bit cheaper, but $8 isn't too bad. But considering the fact that you have to buy soap often. It is a bit concerning.I'm not a huge fan of the way it smells, but that's on me because I accidentally bought the wrong bar of soap. I don't mind the smell, it just reminds me of gum since it's spearmint. The oat? flakes in the bar are really scratchy. I can’t imagine it’s good for skin to be lightly gouged consistent, especially if it’s not in an exfoliating style. If you’re supposed to lather in hands and then apply to body, that’s the only workaround.Doesn’t smell like too much as intended. The carbon black everywhere means you need to be careful where you store it.

Nothing special about this soap and the smell is underwhelming. I will say it sat in my shower for several weeks and didn’t melt, but i also wasn’t using it. Finally pitched it.

Edit 6/25/19 - I ended up loving the Pumice, Tea Tree & Spearmint. However, i ordered the Charcoal, kaolin & Oatmeal, that I also like, but this time it came in a box with plastic packaging. I love the product but I can't handle the packaging. I hope Ethique can contact the distributor in the US and ask for a more environmentally friendly way to ship. it does not need a box and plastic, just ship it in an envelope with some recycled material like the first time and it will be Awesome…

I love pretty much every Ethique product I've tried and this soap is no exception. However, it came delivered SO banged up. There was black powder all inside the envelope, despite it being a boxed product. It exploded all over my kitchen and was not fun to clean up. I live in arid Colorado and really felt like my skin was significantly less dry when using this soap. We're simple people and use our body soap as facewash so sadly my husband did not like it for his face. I personally think he is nuts and that this is by far the best soap we have ever used. My only personal complaint is that you need their box to protect it, as in a regular soap dish it wears down and washes away much too quickly and it does not fit in the box I have for my shampoo bar, so I…

This bar of soap lathers up like no other! I was extremely impressed. As I was washing up I swear I could just feel how naturally moisturizing it was as I went along. The only semi-downside = the scent isn't very strong at all but they make up for it in other areas.

This is a good product. Doesn't dry out my skin like other soaps. Good smell while in the shower, but the smell doesn't linger on skin. My biggest issue is that it doesn't fit in the Ethique In-shower container that I bought (for $15! So expensive!). Why wouldn't they make it the same size as the shampoo bars? I never leave reviews but for this I had to. This is the best body wash I've ever used. It's far better than dove and I thought no one can beat dove. It leaves your body feeling so soft. It makes my legs feel freshly shaved even tho I haven't shaved my legs for about 8 months. It doesn't make you smell like anything after you get out of the shower. The body soap bar gets the job done. But that’s about it. Even fresh out of the box there isn’t much of a scent. But it Doesn’t dry out your skin. So it’s alright I guess.

I love this shampoo bar and only wish it was available for "subscribe and save."The scent is not too strong, but very pleasant. It works well to keep dry scalp flakes away, and I love that it avoids the unnecessary use of plastics in its eco-friendly packaging. I'm a huge fan and plan to continue using!

Was delivered in an Walmart package that was surprisingly eco friendly. In the future I will still order from their site directly. The scent is incredibly strong straight out of the package which made me reluctant to try it. However its surprisingly mild when using it on skin.
