We were trying to play a toggle game as a family and found that one of our "Original" joycons was broken (one of the buttons was pressed too hard for my 9 year old). I went to Amazon, sat on the floor and ordered these. I like that they are a bit different and feel more in the hand. Definitely a nifty addition to having a centerpiece to create a single controller, plus the added bonus of a game holder. Time will tell how long they last!

Works very well, I don't really like playing the console because it's killing my neck. But I tried both ways and they worked fine. Connect to the console first so that it connects and registers the controllers, then you can play wirelessly. Our instructions are a bit confusing, but it was pretty easy to figure it out on your own. I like that there is a small compartment for games. the vibration is a bit stronger than the original controller, but to be honest it doesn't bother me.

I needed the joysticks specifically for a Super Mario party as normal controllers cannot be used. They're half the price of real joycons, and they work. They're a bit big and chunky, but my family members said they liked them better than the original joycons because they were bigger. I've seen someone complain about charging individually, but that doesn't bother me, and at least they can be charged and used without a cradle, just like real ones. My first two biggest complaints; Joysticks are slightly higher than comfortable. Also, I really want you to turn off those pesky blue lights. Even in a bright room they are annoying; If you play at night, it gets worse. You can use tape over them, but they don't really serve a useful purpose. You can see how charged they are from the menu.
