I have a very old mop with a brass handle that I needed a replacement blade for. It was an exceptional purchase and it was like new. However, I would suggest that before disassembling an existing one, you carefully read the instructions on the packaging on how to remove it without damaging it. Great price, great product.

I bought this replacement blade due to a small tear in the original. Now it works so well that I realized I should have replaced it long before it broke. When installing, reuse the original small metal reinforcing members at each end by attaching the first end, then stretching the other end severely and sliding the member and blade back into the channel.

This fits my 18 year old Ettore 18 inch brass squeegee pen. Follow the instructions on the inside of the label on the package. the end of the elastic that fits snugly at the end. I didn't notice this, which made getting the old rubber out a lot harder. After loosening the grip screws, you need to pull the clip and rubber out of one end, remove that clip (bend it back a bit), then pull the clip and rubber out of the other end, and remove that clip. This allows the rubber to slide out unhindered.

Ettore is a good name when it comes to mops and this replacement filling lives up to its reputation. It was difficult to remove the old blade, as it was usually "glued" for years. There are 2 small metal clips on each end of the blade to help hold it in place. That's good news and bad news. With the help of needle nose pliers and a strong sharp hook, after loosening 2 screws I was able to pull out the old blade. When I got out, I cleaned the canal with dish soap and a toothbrush.
