In fact, the gooseneck is thick, stiff and heavy. It seems like it could easily accommodate a full-size camera (DSLR). Just for a webcam or microphone on a tripod, that's overkill. I wish it was light enough for travel; this is definitely not the case. I want it to be a little easier to reposition; but of course it's better that it stays in place than that it dangles. If you need something heavy and/or don't need to move it often, this is perfect.

They attach easily to the top rails of my steel bed frame and are practically invisible. Add some USB extension cords, a dozen or so dark-colored zip ties, and a Bada Bing. A strong gooseneck means you will bend it and stay in place. I love this purchase!
