Super quiet, reliable operation

Used in a custom gaming PC I built to use as the heart of a visual pinball cabinet. I am very happy with this purchase - great performance, no power up issues and a reasonable price here as elsewhere.

  • Regular price

Won't pair with 3000 series GPU

Got a couple of hard resets when pairing this with 3080 FE. I went online and read that many other people had the same problem with the same power supply. For some reason the problem only occurs when gaming, benchmarks and stress tests were fine.

Pros
  • , handy thing
Cons

no longer works after 5 months

The power supply only fulfills one task. For food. When you pay above average for a "really good" power supply, it sounds like it's just doing its job. This power supply was giving out erratic performance five months later and my computer just randomly turned itself off, always in the middle of something important I was doing. Just great.

  • Quick Replace

READ - MAY CONTAMINATE YOUR DEVICES AND NO RECURSION

As a person who reads manuals, I have no idea how I missed this (along with many people seeing it here). Since this is a modular power supply, you can try connecting your previous modular cables. READ: USE THE CABLES YOU PROVIDE AS THEY WILL FRY YOUR HARD DRIVES (and in my case the LEDs on my AIO). Really sucks when it takes out two extra drives that held all my data and backups. Brilliant.

THIS HEATS MY ENTIRE COMPUTER, EVERY PART!

Replaces 650 of the same brand with 750. Special cable supplied with this unit. Most of us just use existing cables unless we see clear and obvious warnings that you should use the parts that come with it. This power supply destroyed all electronic components of my computer. It destroyed 4 hard drives, 1 SSD, an expensive gaming graphics card and my motherboard. I have almost 3000 dollars. I am very disappointed that EVGA made such a ruthless product.

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • No instructions

Good power supply but the coil needs to return.

I've had several EVGA power supplies on builds I've made in the past - they've all served me well, no complaints. This is the first time I've encountered coil noise in general, so much so that it took me a few Google searches to narrow it down. The coil whistling didn't affect PC performance but definitely irritated my ears. It whined every time I booted my computer from sleep for a good 10-15 minutes or just shut it down and then went away. Decided to bring it back with a Corsair PSU and I…

This is a 750ha power supply.

that gives your computer all the power it needs. it was very easy to install. The ability to leave out unnecessary cords is amazing. The consideration of where to place the heat shrink tubing to hold the bundle of cables while still allowing it to be bent to the side is impressive. Cables are enough to work with two GPUs. a fan is a fan. If you register your power supply, you will receive a 10-year guarantee. The 750 watt PSU doesn't seem to be able to handle the power draw 3090

So the PSU itself is very well made and the cables are very good too, everything is labeled for convenience. However, it doesn't seem to be able to handle the 3090 and when running under heavy load the PC will simply shut down. (It only works fine on a regular desktop) Nvidia says 750W (or higher) is recommended and I only use a small iTX build so using 750W shouldn't be a problem. It could just be a faulty unit that happens from time to time, but just in case you're planning on getting a 3080…
