Shot winner: After the device was installed and the drivers and software worked; The sound is rich, bright and audiophile. Aesthetically, the RGB lighting is cool and programmable, but the look is more reminiscent of ASROCK TAICHI or ASUS Prime than ASUS ROG, Gigabyte Aorus, or MSI Godlike. You can see images on the EVGA website. After listening for a while I feel the marketing hype is justified. When the card drives some of the KRK Rockit 5 studio monitors, an immersive, explosive, detailed…

I've been waiting for such a good sound card for years.

My previous sound card was a Sound Blaster X-Fi from circa 2004. It served for many years until it died a few years ago. I tried the Sound Blaster Audigy FX PCIe 5.1 in 2017, but unfortunately it never quite matched my old X-Fi. I went back to my motherboard's onboard sound and have been striving for better sound for years. When this card was announced I was very excited, but my wallet wasn't quite ready yet. I finally took the plunge and I can officially say it's amazing. The sound is crystal…

Sounds very good. - Internal sound cards

Received this to replace my Realtek onboard audio that did not match my Klipsch desktop speakers. I can only say that it is very beautiful. The difference is huge. I can distinguish small tones in my music much more clearly, especially at higher frequencies. One thing the product listing doesn't warn you about is that this card requires its own power connector. You need to connect the SATA power cable to the back of the card. This must be a real SATA line from your power supply, not a Molex to…

Could be a port/firmware issue but phenomenal sound quality

I bought this card to replace my old ROG sound card. It's much better in terms of sound quality, but I have issues that I hope are isolated from my computer. In any case, the headphone and mic jack will work until a forced firmware update where the mic jack will only work through a direct connection to the card and the headset/speakers will only work through the case. I assumed the card was defective and got a replacement only to have the same thing happen after a firmware update (that's how I…

Enthusiast Purchase

Purchasing this sound card was pure enthusiasm and a little risky. This is EVGA's first sound card and it hasn't received any reviews yet. I had the previous Asus Essence ST card for almost 7 years, it was a very decent card especially with the op amps modified. But it's time to change my outdated system and the new motherboard has no PCI slot. I've been using the Topping Dx3 Pro for almost a month and I'm very happy with it, except the DAC can't deliver enough power to my HD580. Since I liked…

If that's the music you want.

I'm not a player, so I can't describe this card to you; You can find reviews complaining about background noise and more in certain game situations. So I'm wondering why the box is basically showing off the map for gaming purposes. But if you're an old-fashioned stereo music lover like me, you won't find anything better than this card, especially if you take the opportunity to upgrade their swappable op amps. The included op amps are pretty good, but the Burson V5i I bought definitely sounds…

Wonderful! Electronics

I was curious about this product when it was announced at CES. I already have a Soundblaster AE-5 and found it good but never really impressed. This product is far superior to the Soundblaster. I'm far from an audiophile, but I hear the difference right away. My speakers are much louder and the audio is crystal clear. Believe the hype!

Pros
  • High marks for tester support and durability
Cons
  • Socket required

Definitely! HOME RUN! (UPDATED)

I'm not a music lover. But I paired this with a Logitech MX Sound Bluetooth speaker (it has an audio jack). with my Soundblaster Katana! This is madness! And it comes with a subwoofer! I installed this in Asus Zenith Extreme x399 mobo. I'll play around with it some more and update my review. THANK YOU EVGA! UPDATE 21 Mar 19 I've had this for less than a month and it starts making loud clicks when I start my computer. I saw where another reviewer posted a video of his sound card smoking. I have…
