If I could give this place 0 stars I would. He died less than 5 minutes after being placed in our aquarium. We followed the instructions on what to do when it didn't work, worked for 20 seconds and stopped again. We repeated the process and then it didn't work at all. Don't buy this and don't waste your time.

I bought this for my snake enclosure to give it the function of a small waterfall. Does not include hoses but 2 nozzles for hoses or just pumps. Not very quiet, but somehow quiet. If you put it in clean water there's certainly no problem, but it can clog if you contaminate the water with the substrate. Works well enough, always on when plugged in.

I have several of these in my vivariums with water circulation and they work very well. You can easily pump water up to 24 inches and maybe even 30 inches if you use narrow hoses and have a good seal around the pump outlet. Around the well I build a cage with a plastic wicker ceiling and root protection fabric to prevent the inflow from getting into the substrate material. I have one of these which is a bit noisy but the rest are pretty quiet (quiet hum when air bubbles come out).
