From dusk to dawn, the insect bulb works for us.

Bought this amber bulb to reduce bugs on the back porch. It took several nights as the insects are so used to our normal white light but after about 5 days I would say 80% of all insects were gone. I personally hate bugs and live in a village where there are no other houses for the bugs to get into. Our home attracted hundreds of bugs each night making it impossible to open our doors without the bugs coming in. This dusk-to-dawn bug bulb made a world of difference. Very satisfied.

Better than other amber LED bulbs I've tried without attracting bugs

Maybe 5 stars These dimmable amber LED bulbs were better at preventing bugs onto my porch than other amber ones that were I've tried bulbs that turn on at dusk and turn off at dawn and it's great that these LED bulbs are dimmable; Not all LED bulbs are dimmable. However, these bulbs attracted some bugs. However, the colored LED bulb does not attract insects at night, in which case these bulbs deserve 5 stars. Dusk.

Perfect for my application

I have a front door patio light that uses two standard 100w tungsten bulbs connected in series so they give a much softer glow and at a lower operating voltage (60v) 'forever' " keep. instead of 120V - the old porch trick and the like). I replaced them with two 5W dimmable LED bulbs and they worked great, running at almost their full 400 lumens despite the reduced individual 60V voltage on each bulb and only consuming 5W due to the series connection.
