User manual is missing

I originally wanted to return it because I thought it wouldn't work with my M2 SATA SSD. If they included some basic steps it would help them. Here's a quick guide on how to use this adapter: 1. Unscrew the two small screws on the flat end opposite the USB port.2. Plug the USB cable into the port. This will push the board out of the side you just opened, allowing you to remove it. (See photo). It was the only way to push the board.3. This works with M.2 SATA SSDs with B or M+B keys (see…

economically. easy to use

1) I chose the color blue, it was the cheapest and looks cool. 2) The device comes without written instructions, but it is intuitive to disassemble and install the SSD. There are enough reviews and questions here on Revain to find out. 3) It works as it should, I installed my "new" 1TB SSD, plugged it in, cloned my old 256GB SSD to a new one (using this adapter), replacing the SSD, now my laptop has an upgraded 1TB SSD and With this adapter I have a 256GB external SSD. 4) A "small" Phillips…

It won't fit your M.2 NGFF B-Key 2280, 2260, 2242 or 2230 SSD

So this drive's packaging clearly states that it is compatible with NGFF M.2 2280 2260 2242 2230 SSD is with key B/key B+M. Interestingly, the label on my SSD says "NGFF M.2 2280". When I plug it in, the notch moves 1 or 2mm, so my drive doesn't fit. This is the second of those things that I also got because I thought I had the wrong drive. As it turned out, none of my SSDs fit there. The socket is incorrectly cut or the specifications on the packaging, labels and advertising for Revain are…

Never worked properly: Hard drive accessory

I bought this to use with my NVMe drive which I removed before understanding all the M.2 options . I ended up buying another NVMe case that worked great. Instead of returning this case I bought an NGFF M.2 drive for it. Again I hit a snag because this case will not work with an unformatted drive. I then bought an NGFF to SATA converter to format the drive which formatted the drive perfectly. After initializing and formatting it, I put the drive back in this case and AGAIN it still didn't work…

Works as advertised but compare.

I ordered 2 of these for use with M2 SATA drives. This enclosure works as advertised, but I didn't get the throughput I expected with either the 120GB Kingston M2 SATA drive or the 500GB WD Blue drive. Theoretical (and manufacturer-verified) throughput for both drives exceeds the nominal limit of 550 MB/s, but I couldn't achieve that with the host's Shuttle SH97 USB 3.0 hub. Both drives using this enclosure showed higher throughput on other machines (AMD), but again they didn't hit the upper…

Bought this enclosure for my Samsung EVO 860 M.2 2TB SATA hard drive. The gray color is perfect and matches my space gray MacBook. The case features a USB-C connector and comes with a USB-C to USB 3.1 cable. Also included is a small screwdriver to open and install the hard drive. It is compatible with various sizes of 2230/2242/2260/2280, where the first 2 digits are the width of the disk and the last 2 digits are the actual length of the disk. There were 2 mounting screws with a gasket in the…

Pros
  • Sturdy build
Cons
  • Frequency

Well built, comfortable little thing! I've installed a 512GB (0.5TB) M.2 module here (22mm wide, 42mm long, the longest this case supports) as this is the "best place" for cost-wise is the size and type of SATA media. (Try some aggressively priced Chinese sites and get at least a three-year warranty on your media). There are 1TB (and even 2TB) 2242 media available, but they can be more than twice the price of 0.5TB media. So you can have 2 terabytes in this matchbox! The blue LED indicates…

Best of 3 Cases I've Tried!

So I tried two other cases before settling on this one. The problem with the other two was that they appeared to be grounded in their metal case and then weren't recognized by either the computer or the phone. This one has never given me any problems and seems to be a very solid case. I'm using a Sandisk m.2 SATA 128GB SSD and it works perfectly without a single hiccup. Once you have it plugged into your computer, go into the drive settings to format the drive to whatever format you prefer…
