After 2 years it cracked in the middle

The product was at a great price and everything was fine until the second cold season. The piece is torn in the middle and unusable. Isn't that the expected lifespan? Maybe I got a defective one?

Pros
  • MATERIAL: The valve is brass and nickel plated for longer life
Cons
  • Volume

Separation appeared in Expansion Valves & Parts

I have purchased 5 vents. Worked well for 1 winter. This winter, 2 vents developed vertical cracks that allowed a lot of steam to escape. The steam condensed on the windows and produced a lot of water. The steam also condensed on the walls, causing mold to form.

Pros
  • CERTIFICATION: This valve is UPC and CSA certified
Cons
  • Cleanliness

Warning: you get what you pay for.

I bought 4 of these valves and they just don't work. Instead of closing in an instant like a radiator valve, they just hiss and spit out steam as long as the heat is on. higher pressure? But I doubt it.

Pros
  • USE: This valve is for irrigation ONLY - not for drinking water use
Cons
  • Obsolete model
