Ball check valves 1/4 turn cheaper than hardware stores

I own and rent out several single-family homes. During renovation work or renovations, I absolutely replace the old multi-stage shut-off valves under sinks and toilets, as these often no longer close after 20 years of non-use. I've used them with no problems.

Leaky. Never again. in Rough Plumbing

It took 6 of these to get 4 good ones. 2 of them ran out of the pen slot once installed. Of course, this guy doesn't have a union nut to tighten, so I just had to replace it. I didn't need any extra work! I installed 100 Brasscraft Cutoffs with no problems. Thought to try this. They looked good and were packaged well, but there's no point if they're faulty.

Pros
  • Great for a Small Home
Cons
  • Bad Impression

Suitable for DIY

Most plumbing jobs I do require the water to be turned off for repairs. Most check valves in older homes are screw-in valves, and over time they all seem to freeze up. New 1/4 turn valves make it easy to replace old valves. I've recently replaced two and haven't had any leakage issues. I will definitely buy them again as they cost half the price of the ones I buy at the big hardware stores. Definitely a good buy!

  • Easy to use

Works as it should, good value for the whole house

Each valve arrived in its own little individual box with all the parts. They have a metal ball valve and only require a 1/4 turn to operate. The ball valve type should last much longer than older check valves that rely on washer compression. I decided to replace the badly frozen old shut off valves on all the plumbing in the house along with the old plumbing. 20 valves is a bit more than I need for my house, so I make some at my mother-in-law's house too. They worked just as well as the local…
