This is my second one of these. The first lasted a solid 5-6 years and only brought because of a car accident. Overall this is a very good softbox. It's soft with a nice specular quality, especially nice for skin tones. It can be a bit challenging to setup when it is new as it's hard to pull and snap into position. The octobox is strong and well made. The problem is with the metal plate that is the connector to the softbox speedring. They were not compatible with my light. The size of the hole 4" is the same, but my flash has a 90 degree angle inside the opening and the plate that came with the octobox is curved and rounded. This is one of my favorite softboxes. I like that it is portable, easy to set up and tear down, and I love being able to control the light when I am doing artistic portraits. The light from it is nice and soft, as expected. On the minus side, first (and minor) is that it puts a lot of side load on the light stand, so you might find yourself needing a sandbag on a lightweight light stand to avoid having it tip over. Octabox modifiers are among my favorite and this one with it's umbrella-like design is faster to set up than those with individual rods and for that it's great.
