The pens themselves are good and can be found in a wide range. However, after learning more, I realized that I needed more colors than these. Pastel goes well together, but not together. The general practice is to get as many of these as possible. Unfortunately, they don't do 48 sets. I loved my set of 24 Faber-Castell Pitt pastel pencils so much I decided to order the full range (60 pieces) so will be making a travel set as well as a studio set. These are excellent pens especially for drawing details. If you have never used them I would suggest watching YouTube videos so you understand how they work. The consistency of the lead is harder than other pastels, allowing the lead to last a bit longer, but they blend easily. Also, the cores are more durable, allowing for less breakage when sharpening.
