I was looking for ways to fix a broken arm.

I was looking for how to fix a cracked GE air conditioner fan arm and came across J. Riley's review here. Thanks to him, I ordered this bracket, cut the remaining arms off the motor, straightened the tabs with an angle grinder, and this bracket got my AC working again. Saved me a lot of money!

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • I'll add it later

I saved $120 - Fan Motors

Worked great for what I needed. I used it a little differently than usual. GE engines usually have mounting tabs built in (i.e. spot welded). In my case, one of the assembly "ears" broke off. Instead of a $155 motor swap, I used this mount. I drilled out the spot welds that held onto the original mounts and smoothed the spots out a bit with an angle grinder. This mount immediately slipped off and I'm back in business. This saved me €120.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Requires an outlet

48Y Frame Match!: Fan Motors

Broken Arm, Take This! One of the mounting levers on my air conditioner motor broke. I bought this mount instead of buying a new motor. It worked! It was very easy to install. The tedious part was removing the spot welds from the engine. But the effort with the angle grinder was worth it. I used a spare locknut and washers on the bolt in addition to the threadlocker. It was an easy task, but it was in an awkward position, so I didn't want to go through it again. Engine. Cons: Slightly smaller…

Pros
  • Hands-Free Operation
Cons
  • Very Expensive
