great idea Best in Hand Tools

I've always wanted chisels that are safe to carry in my tool apron and these from Fastcap fit the bill. My only complaint was that the handles on mine didn't stay fully closed when folded. I ended up having to file the chisel a bit near the hinge points to fix some interference issues. When this is done, the chisel becomes a 5 star tool! I will be buying other sizes soon.

But good idea. - Hand Tools

My chisel has always punched a hole in the bottom of nylon tool bags. I saw this snap chisel and thought it would solve the problem. While I no longer have issues with the chisel trying to break out of my pocket, this tool isn't perfect. My biggest problem is that the blade steel is too soft. Very soft. Would you like to cut at least some hardwood? Get ready to sharpen it again as the steel will simply tip over. Accidentally hit a nail? Get ready for some serious grinding. I want to like this…

It does what I wanted

I've only had this item for a month. If problems are found I will revise my review. Restoration of a historic house. In the final stages, I constantly use a chisel for small modifications, so I usually keep it in my back pocket. If it hits the handle first I cut myself or scrape something with the end of the chisel. If there is another way, I quickly have a hole in my pocket.
