My wife has been using wire slicers for many decades for eggs and strawberries. The wires stretch over time and are too weak for firmer fruits or fungi. Once my wife found out that this would handle mushrooms, she was sold. I wash it by hand and use a toothbrush to clean the blades after it has been used on mushrooms, so it is a slight pain to clean.

This lives on my cutting board now. Very handy for slicing boiled new potatoes, short sticks of butter, small quantities of herbs, small onions, and on and on. Blades sturdier than the flimsy wires on old-fashioned egg slicer’s

I love the ease of use. I have used this gadget to slice eggs, small tomatoes, bananas, and cherries ( after pit removal). It is much easier to slice than my last one, especially with my arthritis. The wires on my last one bent and broke just by slicing a hard boiled egg. I also like the lock feature so it is closed up in the drawer. Better than reaching in and getting cut. This is definitely worth the money.

I bought this to replace the wire egg cutter that broke. I wanted a blade egg cutter for durability. I use it to cut mushrooms most of the time. It does not seem to align very well when pushing through, need to open back up to adjust and then cut. Cleaning is not to bad.

Slices right through the eggs and fruit that I used it for to slice. Kind a hard to clean due to the blade but works well Thanks for attention.

I ordered this to replace one that broke on the first use. This slicer chops eggs, strawberries and tomatoes! Love it! Very sturdy!
