I've bought a couple of these for gifts. I use mine almost daily. Slicing strawberries for baking and slicing mushrooms for my gravy. Quick to just grab and use. It takes longer to wash it than to attend to the actual task of slicing. 8 always wash it by hand and breed a besmall brush to get between the blades, they are sharp!

I have never used it to slice an egg. I do use it for mushrooms and olives. Costco sells an 8 pack of olives for a good price but they are whole. This does the trick. You can get 3 in it at a time. The wire ones don't last for olives and sometimes just mush them. I also like that it locks closed so it doesn't jam the drawer. Came out clean in the dishwasher. Which is good because the dogs found the little cleaning brush.

Ordered this to replace similar kitchen gadget that recently broke. I loved the one that broke, had it for years; it was one where you put what wanted sliced in and pushed it through the blades by squeezing the handles together (a flrst class lever). I'm so glad I bought this. I don't know about you but every time I buy an egg slicer I get to use it a couple of times before at least one of the wires messes up and I have to throw it away. I was constantly replacing those darn things. Not anymore, this thing was so worth it and I wish I had found it sooner. I can slice eggs, mushrooms and basically what ever small thing I need and don't have to worry about it breaking. I'd buy it again in a heart beat.

I always thought those ridiculous versions made with wires made no sense. We broke two in the last year before finding this one. The others said they could cut strawberries or mushrooms - yeah right. Worthless. But this one is legit. We've cut it all and it's in not at all at risk of breaking from this. Love it!

Been looking for an egg slicer that slices not crushes. This is it. More expensive than I would have normally spent on an egg slicer, but since I have bought and threw out several in the last year glad I took the chance. I would defend recommend to clean immediately after use as it cleans easier that way.Really the only con is how large it is, but it works beautifully, and my Mom who has bad arthritis in her hands can use easily. Well worth it.

Was so excited when I ordered this product. It is good and sturdy and the cutting blades won’t break like the wire ones.I bought it to make egg salad. I cut it in two different directions. The blades smash the eggs and it makes a real mess of the eggs.It is also hard to clean the egg yoke from the blades.I am sure it will work for mushrooms and strawberries.

Easy to cut all kinds of things - hardboiled eggs, olives (without pits), strawberries. Saves my arthritic hands a lot of pain. Versus the OXO egg slicer supposedly made for arthritis, but which broke on 1st use. Easy to clean. Only 1 slight drawback - it's large, so harder to store. I am very happy with this product! I would say "I love it!" but I've learned not to love things that can't love me back. I wouldn't use it for a small job, I'd use a knife for that. I love this item. I had several pounds of mushrooms I needed to slice for dehydration. I was able to finish in a fraction of the time it takes me using a knife and doesn’t damage the mushrooms either.

It is large but works very well. Wash immediately after using because fragments of food hide in corners. The egg slicer may not be suitable for people with mobility impairments.

This may not be the easiest to clean but it’s still pretty easy. So far I’ve used it to chop eggs, mushrooms and strawberries. Works great on all three.

While this does seem to be quite sturdy - unlike the ones with just a wire to cut the egg - I always buy large eggs and they do not fit! I would have to cut off the end of the egg to make it work. It is also somewhat bulky to fit in a drawer. I imagine it would work for small sized eggs and strawberries, etc., but that doesn't fit my needs - and I don't have space to store it when I will never use it.
