Fel Pro Es72220 Head Bolt Set Review

I have used other brands of screws before and Fel-Pro is on the lower end but for the price compared to other products it is a good product. I didn't like the thread sealant that was applied to the bolts, which caused some trouble getting them into the bolt holes.

The bolts were defective, didn't make it to the head so the exhaust fumes got into the cooling system anyway. Second time with APR head screws and no problems. I also have a torque wrench that measures degrees and it's not the first time I've used these bolts, they've worked great in the past.

You can't go wrong with these quality head bolts from Felpro. Fits perfectly with the felpro head gasket kit for my 05 5.3. Already driven 900 km after installation, no leaks. ALWAYS tighten to specification and have your heads ground and finished at your local machine shop. Thank you!

You can expect the best from anything that bears the Fel-Pro name and this head bolt set is no exception. It's definitely OEM quality and I've had no issues with these screws. My engine is rebuilt to just over 500hp and I drive my car 1/8 mile on summer weekends and despite my abuse I have no problem with these head bolts. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a great quality head bolt kit that is great value for money.

These bolts are junk, they don't tighten evenly. I had to disassemble the engine again because the head gaskets leaked once my engine was up to operating temperature. I have been building engines for 35 years and have never had a cap bolt fail, but have never used a Fel-Pro cap bolt before. When disassembling the engine, I checked each bolt with my torque wrench and found that they all have different torque ratings. Save a lot of time and money and buy OEM or ARP screws.
