Fellow Raven Stovetop Tea Kettle - Teapot with Stainless Steel Loose Leaf Tea Infuser and Thermometer, Non-Whistling, Matte Black, 1 Liter Review

I like making tea in a Raven teapot. It is beautifully designed, functional and perfect for two people. The downside is that there is no whistle to indicate the tea is boiling, so you have to monitor the thermometer carefully.

I received the kettle yesterday and after only using it twice - no problem, just boiling clean water twice and washing your hands extra gently even without even the softest sponge - the Bottom of the teapot reveals the ugly truth. The black coating is starting to peel off! I swear I never clean the surface. It just peels off. Terrible.

I had been dying from this kettle for about a year and I waited until the one I have now finally broke before buying this one because it's definitely more expensive. When I was finally able to buy it I was sadly disappointed after living with it for a week. That's a lot less than I expected. The materials don't seem to be as high quality as I thought they would be and they are very light. It is aesthetically beautiful and does the job of making a cup of tea. I just don't know if I would pay 75€

I bought the Fellow Raven stovetop kettle because it's the nicest option available and the matte black color suits my kitchen well. I hesitated before buying because it doesn't whistle when the water is ready. I've always relied on the kettle's whistle to call me into the kitchen. While it's nice to have a thermometer, I don't see why it can't also whistle - even if it whistles with low tea temperatures (like green tea etc.). I loved the look from the moment I opened the box. This is a really high quality kettle. At first I was afraid it would be too small - judging by first glance - but the shape is designed to belie (in a good way) how much water it actually holds. It lasts longer than I expected and is perfectly adequate for our family.
