If you need to extend the pipe from the wall by half an inch like I did, then this product is perfect for you. The price was a bit higher than usual but I couldn't find it in any of the local hardware stores, I literally went through 6 different well known stores and had no luck.

This product solved an issue that would have required removing tiles in a new shower enclosure because the tiles were thicker than the contractor intended. Saved hundreds of dollars on repairs. I'm ordering another set to have on hand. A real problem solver for the plumbing trade.

We had a bathroom renovation with built in faucets and the contractor was unable to position sinks/countertops closer to the faucets. They installed (with plenty of Teflon tape and washers) and we were able to pull the faucets out 3/4″ so water was always getting into our sink. Lowes and Home Depot don't sell these so we're very glad we found them as they were just what we needed.

Without this adapter I would not be able to use the beautiful European style valves in my bathroom at the end point to connect to the check valve. If you have a G 1 valve /2" male thread, you will need to purchase this adapter and place it between the elbow and the new valve. In addition, it is very well made and excellent value for the labor and material that went into it.

If you're here then you may have had the same experience as us of where to go to hook up your beautiful new fancy kitchen faucet to the water line, even though both connections are 1/2 are inches, for some reason they just don't screw properly. So you go online, do a little research and realize that there are two different standards. for thread width, one for USA and one for other countries because we just love being different!
