works BUT ultra light wire

works BUT ultra light wire. The deer tear at it all the time and it stretches very easily. I've had select fence signs hanging from a line, and only the weight of those in the wind stretches the wire. Use the thicker cattle gauge.

Aluminum wire is much easier to work with.

Aluminum wire is so much easier to work with and so much cleaner than steel that it's hard to even think about using steel. When installing an electric fence around a yard annually, you want the simplest wire, and this wire fills the bill.

a good thing. Will not rust or corrode.

Yes, good stuff. Will not rust or corrode, conducts electricity better than steel. Expect it to get tighter over time, so it might be a good idea to install some in-line idlers on long runs. I bought it long and hard and couldn't find a much better price than Revain.

  • Easy to use

just the last one, it started to stretch and break.

I've been using this as dog fencing wire and lately it's starting to stretch and snap where sticks or toys hit it. Don't over-tighten it so you have a spare in case a repair is unavoidable. Buy more than you need so you can repair sections as needed.

Horse Fence Hot Wire

We bought this wire to run hot wire around a small pasture and paddock to prevent horses from bumping into the non-climbing fence because the grass is ALWAYS greener. on the other side of the fence, even if there is no grass on the other side of the fence. We recently decided to completely fence in a large pasture with an electric fence as a horse fence would be very expensive for such a large area. This was the best price I found for 17 gauge aluminum wire and we were happy with the wire we…
