Like all antennas, this antenna requires some fiddling to get the right SWR. After about 30 minutes I found that my SWR was 1.3 on channels 1 and 40 and the needle on channel 19 was barely moving. I bought this to replace the crappy glass with the antenna and hooked it up to an antenna mount in the trunk and a cheap Midland 1001Z with a quick connector. As soon as I landed and found the SWR, I set out for a test drive. On the freeway, cruising at freeway speeds, I got very good audio for up to 4.5 miles and reception was excellent.
