Good for the hearing impaired.

My daughter and her boyfriend are both deaf and are required by law to have them installed. She says they are perfect for her.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Quality

Excellent value for money for smoke and fire alarms

Easy to install, just minutes for wiring and installation. The sound and light are brighter than usual, and the sound is also louder.

Pros
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • Newer model could have been chosen

Ideal for customers

Bought several of these for a deaf customer when the builder was unable to install a similar one as agreed. They are not cheap but very effective for deaf and hard of hearing people. The strobe is strong, the sound is good, you can mount it anywhere.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Modern

Cutting pliers needed: Fireproof

Love it. We just changed ours so we have one alarm instead of two (a smoke detector and a strobe). They look good and are like any other alarm system to install. My only downside was the red wire cutters due to the way it closed.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • No machine

Not enough for the hearing impaired

I have hearing aids. I need something LOUD when I sleep. The sound was softer than the stick. I think the manufacturer should ask people who are actually hard of hearing to test the sound. They advertised the included flashlight which doesn't help me when I'm sleeping. Very disappointed.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • So far so good

Has its own internal battery

Installed 2 of these at my mother's house with no problems. It already had non-stroboscopic smoke alarms installed so all I had to do was replace the bezel with the one that came with the kit and plug it in. Replacing the sensor takes 5-15 minutes depending on your skill level. All you need to replace the connection you already have is a Phillips screwdriver and a flathead screwdriver to pry off the old bezel if it's stuck to the ceiling paint.

Pros
  • Handy thing
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other picks
