Description of Fiskars Crafts 190950 1001 RazorEdge Action

Ultra-sharp, high-grade, stainless steel blades on Fiskars 9Razoredge easy action fabric shears glide through fabric and cut all the way to the tip. Spring-action design gently opens blades after each cut to reduce handle strain, while soft grip touch points provide a secure, comfortable grip. Unique handle design helps fabric lie flat for accurate cuts, while extended lower blade rests under fabric so you can cut without repositioning. Ideal for all-purpose, tabletop cuts through fabrics like silk, oil cloth, light leather, polyester, cotton, crepe, felt and much more.

Not good for my arthritic hands!

I bought these because the reviews and description showed they would be good for my arthritic hands. No way! When I try to apply pressure to close them, it hurts. Spring loaded is not good. Gave them back.

Great for my carpal tunnel

Available as advertised. They are great for someone like me, a large carpal tunnel and early stages of arthritis. The only issue I had was that they are harder to cut into circles than my regular ones, but I'm new to using them and that might just be me.

  • Hands Free

Causes hand fatigue

I thought these spring loaded scissors would help with arthritis in my hands. Maybe this pair is defective? Working with them was much more difficult than with ordinary scissors. The scissors close with great resistance, but then open. I tried lubricating the joint a couple of times, it didn't help. I wanted to give them to my husband because he is stronger but he didn't like them either! I have other spring loaded Fiskars that run much smoother.

Bad tips? suitable for scissors

This is now my second set of these scissors. Both seem to have broken ends? I was expecting them to have pointy ends as shown in the picture on the packaging and in the product description. There are no details that could explain this very strange advice. One is shorter and has a blunt end while the other has an odd blunt curve. It certainly won't allow you to cut all the way to the ends. With no help I'll just have to request a refund again and see if I can contact Fiskars directly.

Fiskars Crafts RazorEdge Easy Action Fabric Scissors

I love these scissors! For arthritis and carpal tunnel, I wanted a pair of scissors that didn't stress the thumb joint. I cut off a lot of fabric and it became very painful to cut it with ordinary scissors. These scissors are spring loaded so you don't have to lift the top blade every time. I thought that the action of the spring might slow down the cutting, but it doesn't. The cut is very sharp and takes no more time than ordinary scissors. And since the thumb and fingers are not in the usual…
