in (sixty) years this is the third purchase of this tried and tested device. He has sharpened my scissors well over the years

I had my doubts. but wow. IT REALLY WORKS. I'm a quilter and I've finally found a way to keep all of my scissors sharp, and I mean really sharp.

I have been hoarding scissors and recently inherited my mother's stash. We always have at least two in each room (one small and one large). I really can't justify all the scissors, but this little device sharpened them with no problem.

Works well with both large and small scissors as long as they are straight. does not work with curved scissors. Sharpening only requires about 10 passes with scissors. By skipping I mean pretending to cut a sharpener up to 10 times.

I had one of these and it fell apart after 2 years of use. Since this model looks the same but costs a lot more, I hope it lasts a lot longer. The part where the scissor blades rub against during the sharpening process seems like a huge improvement over my previous one.

The reason I gave four stars instead of five is because there are no sharpening instructions for different scissors in the kit. I have 3 different types that need sharpening. It was easy to figure out after a few runs with each one. The packaging is very easy to open and use immediately.

Received an order earlier saying excellent service is also available abroad. Only thing is they couldn't help but provide a tracking number but they assured me I would receive it, which I did. They may have included instructions on how to sharpen my scissors, but I was able to ask someone at the fabric store how to use them.

Need too many instructions? This might work well, but I might want to screw up some scissors. Okay, it's not that hard to understand, but the instructions will certainly make me feel better after spending $20 and give me confidence that I'm using them correctly.

This is the second Fisxars sharpener I've bought! I bought my first one 20 years ago! He sharpened all the scissors in my house including the kitchen! Over the years we have regularly sharpened 20 scissors! I could have used each pair to cut the fabric as I sewed, but of course I put all the scissors I had sharpened back in the spaces they were in.
