👟 Freerider Contact Approach Shoes for Men by Five Ten Review

My kid loves these mountain bike shoes. They fit as expected and have withstood the wear and tear they endure. Which is good because they are expensive.

I ordered 1/2 size up and they fit perfectly. Very comfortable shoes and worked great with good pedals. The sole is really solid so it doesn't flex as you walk, and the construction of the shoe feels extremely durable. They are even easy to enter.

These shoes fit as expected, perform, are clearly very well constructed - and I would highly recommend them. I'm deducting 1 star because, like many other specialty shoe manufacturers, I firmly believe this product is overpriced. Nevertheless, I think they fully serve their purpose. Highly recommended.

This is my second pair. I bought the first pair in a size too big (men's size 9) so I decided to try the women's sizes but they are VERY narrow in the toe box. I wear women's size 9 1/2 and men's size 8 1/2 is perfect for me. I wear custom orthotics, so I remove the orthotics and put my own in. I really like her. Comfortable but they support my foot and I don't slip off the pedals.

Excellent grip. decent build. great looks. good support and protection. not too hard. maybe a little small for the size? I've run them with a couple of medium travel Chester racing pedals and am very happy with them. I changed the insoles of other shoes. I wanted thinner and more durable insoles. I don't really like the big, puffy Five Ten insoles, but I'm a bit picky about them. there is also a free rider element. like these are slightly better overall.

Shoes turn out at least 1/2 size too small. It almost looks like it will fit, but I know it doesn't. Feels too cozy and even looks a bit smaller. I will order 1/2 size larger and update my review. Just spent a week mountain biking in Moab in these shoes and they've done great. Comfortable and stiff enough for good power transfer without making walking uncomfortable. The soles are incredibly grippy and I never lost my grip even on the toughest trails. My platform pedals made a name for themselves but were about what I expected without being over the top. They were also good on sandstone terrain and gripped when I had to pedal through. I drove through puddles and rain and they dried up…
