Odd sizes ensure a good fit.

These shoes aren't bad when they're on, but they're smaller and snugger than I'd like. So much so that they are very difficult to put on with light socks. If you try to remove them, the zipper will open, preventing it from opening fully. It then takes a lot of cursing and violence to take off the shoes.

Pros
  • Made from breathable materials for good air circulation.
Cons
  • Shoes can be uncomfortable on long journeys.

European size, not US.

First review: you must choose the European size! Don't go by US standards. Luckily I read the comments and found the right size. I usually wear 42-42.5 in Fizik and they fit perfectly.

Pros
  • Trial and error method
Cons
  • Design is not suitable for all occasions

keep my feet warm

I had trouble keeping my feet warm in "regular" cycling shoes during the winter. They do their job: they are comfortable, very well insulated and now I can ride for over 2 hours without getting cold feet.

Pros
  • great shoes.
Cons
  • The black color makes it less versatile.

Easy compared to The Lakes.

I put on some new cleats, tried them on the treadmill for a while and intend to use them in a 30 mile mountain bike race in northern Michigan this weekend and will report on their performance. So far the quality seems good.

Pros
  • Works perfectly! Wind and water protection. Very happy with the sub-freezing performance.
Cons
  • Shoes are not waterproof

The size chart is wrong

Ordered these shoes three times. The transition from US to EU sizing is still a long way off and each time a pair has arrived it has been very different from the size I wanted and ordered.

Pros
  • Easy on and off with a convenient lace-up closure
Cons
  • Shoes may require frequent maintenance

Quality and fit: my rating

Very comfortable and correct fit. Worn at 21 degrees at 18 miles. My toes are a bit cold but ok I need to think about better socks. I would buy again.

Pros
  • Made from high quality waterproof materials that will last
Cons
  • Shoes may not be very breathable

good fit even with wool socks

So far so good, although I haven't ridden in very wet conditions yet. Easier to put on than others. I was concerned that ordering my normal shoe size would mean they would be too tight with wool socks, but they fit really well.

Pros
  • Equipped with a high quality lacing system to ensure a good fit.
Cons
  • Shoes are not breathable

Wrong size twice - my new review

The size for this seems to be completely wrong in the wiring. They sent me the wrong size twice. I can't say anything about the product itself other than that it looks great. I couldn't try them on as they sent me a few sizes too small.

Pros
  • A great choice for commuting, travel and off-road riding.
Cons
  • Shoes take a long time to dry

More for than against: my rating

Update: The zipper broke easily: it popped out of the track after only a few uses. I am changing my review to negative as the company does not provide a contact phone number. They offer email claims but their website is buggy. They are difficult to reach. Excellent boot, almost waterproof and durable. I went mountain biking on a 40 degree day with heavy snowmelt. There was dirt and mud everywhere. My boots were covered in wet mud for 2 hours and my feet were dry. I was able to open the boot…

Pros
  • Provides excellent foot support to reduce fatigue
Cons
  • Shoes may not be suitable for different weather conditions.

Biking in Chicago in Winter!

These shoes are amazing. I suffered from toe numbness in summer shoes (with double socks and shoe covers). No longer! I would compare the warmth and waterproofing to a ski or snowboard boot; You'll still get chills on the coldest of days, but they're definitely good for what they're made for. The five stars are for the shoes, not the buying experience. I ordered men's size 12 because when I clicked on that size it came up as "Fizik X5 Artica 43 Shoes Black (X5ARTIC18-1010-43)". I usually wear a

Pros
  • Comes with a reflective heel counter for better visibility when riding at night.

Warm. Waterproof. Poor quality zipper. Total damage $194

Was thrilled to get these boots here at PNW for the wet, cold winters. The boot feels durable, it was waterproof and kept my feet warm and dry. The zipper has always been difficult to close, especially at the transition from foot to ankle. Bought them in February 2020. It is now April 2022. My zipper broke on my way to work this morning. I had to work hard to get my foot out of the shoe. Impossible to close the zipper as it is well stuck in the upper part. An absolute letdown for this shoe. I…

Pros
  • Designed with an adjustable insole for individual foot shapes.
