FJC 6692 R134A Brass Manifold Review

I've always wondered how these sensors work to detect problems with the automatic air conditioning. Now that I have it, I know how to do it. If you know how and want to fix air conditioner problems yourself, then this is a good indicator of quality. I bought a cheaper model first, sent them back due to quality issues and bought a few more enchiladas for this much nicer set. Now I want to repair all air conditioners.

I have used this sensor kit for R12 and R134a since I bought it last summer and it has worked fine on both. If you are working with R134a and using small canisters, you will need a canister tap (and/or other fittings needed). It seems like a decent tool; All carvings were nice, firm and clean as far as I could tell, no sloppy finishing or casting. The hoses are heavy and decent. I have no complaints. No doubt they will serve me for many years.

January 2020 Update I use these sensors in several automotive and residential HVAC systems. My initial review shows this is still a great set of sensors. Original review July 2018 I have read many reviews on these sensors and have not had any of the issues that other people have mentioned. These gauges held the vacuum for hours and filled the system with no leaks. I have no reason to believe these sensors won't last me many years.

Works as advertised although gauges are a bit rough for accuracy which I kept tapping on the gauge seems a bit sticky inside valves don't leak, the included couplers are fine, the rubber insert that seals the hose connections breaks easily (NEVER turn the connector by tightening or loosening the connector, you need to keep the connection stationary and only rotate knurled part).

Works as advertised. Please note that in order to supply R134a from 12oz cans the 'FJC 6030 Can Tap' part must be purchased in addition to this manifold. Yes, the ACME thread adapter that comes with this distributor is not enough! The 134 can has aluminum sealant in the head. Can Tap acts like a can opener.
