Great product for this money. The instructions are poorly written.

Pretty cool little device for the money. Use it with a Nikon D5300 digital SLR camera. However, the user manual for the remote control leaves a lot to be desired. Followed the instructions and it didn't work. Played around with this and got it working after ignoring the instructions. It has a built in diffuser that comes in handy for portraits and situations where you don't need flash glare.

Inexpensive great flash

I wanted to improve my photography in the dark for my Nikon D3500 DSLR and found this simple flash. It worked straight away with no problems. The functions are simple and easy to use. I'm still learning the ins and outs but recently added a universal softbox cover that helps reduce the flash intensity of this flash. Overall, especially for the price, this was a great addition to my entry-level DSLR kit.

The flash broke after a few shots

I bought 2 of these flashes to replace my Nikon SB900 which broke recently. I thought the review looked decent and for that price I was able to buy 2. I needed a flash for my birthday speech and these 2 flashes really let me down. A few shots and those flashes gave up and stopped flashing. Thank goodness I brought a Quantum flash, otherwise I would have gotten very grainy and poor quality pictures. Don't buy this.

Great customer service?

I have purchased 3 Altura Photo units - AP-305N 2.4GHz I-TTL Speedlite for DSLR and mirrorless cameras. I was happy with the product. They worked fine, but one of the flashes stopped working and I had to contact a Goja photographer in Miami, Florida to ask for help with the unit. They responded very quickly and offered to exchange the defective unit. I am glad I bought from them and I am confident that I will continue to be a satisfied customer.

Good price but no instructions.

Quality construction at an affordable price. universal flash. Storage case for flash and base but no trigger case. There are no instructions included for either the flash or the trigger, making it difficult for the untrained. The YouTube video provides some guidance; however, detailed instructions for both devices would greatly improve the usability of the product. There are too many customization options for users to get most of the features without clear, detailed, and step-by-step…

Altura AP-305 Nice little flash

I'm a beginner and this is my first hot shoe. I found the Altura AP-305 flash easy to learn and set up. It has 6 buttons and a scroll wheel. The device does not come with a manual, but it is available online. I've used it with alkaline batteries, with a full cycle between shots of 5 seconds or more. The cycle time decreases with decreasing power. In TTL mode, my shots were slightly overexposed, even in indirect light. In manual mode, as the power decreased, there was a good light pattern with…

Terrible with Nikon D800

This is my first non-Nikon flash. My SB910 stopped working and I thought I'd try this for an intermediate flash. I feel like I got what I paid for. The flash seems solid, but the diffuser is difficult to open and flimsy. The flash doesn't always fire and when it does the light quality is terrible compared to my Nikon. Very sharp and bold. The dial on the back doesn't always work and I have a hard time changing the settings the way I want. The unit comes with no instructions so maybe I'm missing

Great concept. That does not work.

This flash and transmitter is a great idea for the money but the remote just didn't work. No games could get the flash to respond to the transmitter. First, there were no instructions in the box. And then it took too long to track down the manuals. There should have been at least one QR code on the packaging or on the Blitz itself! And when you finally find guides online, they're not that great anymore. They use a number of vague terms and in some cases even describe the keys with names that…
