Does not work with melamine panels! I followed the gluing instructions very closely. Forget about hanging - the thing didn't even stay upside down. Since the panel is inexpensive, I glued it to the back of the panel and then hung it on a metal ring. (This method worked.) Not sure if it works better on glass and porcelain. But it will NOT work on melamine.

It worked like magic and took about a year and a half until one day I noticed that my plate was hanging sideways on the wall and only about 1/8 inch from it The disc still holds my plate. Thank God I noticed, because at some point it would surely have broken. Great concept but I can personally attest to the shortcomings of this product. I'll probably just go back to the $3 wire setup. Living in an earthquake country, I have to wonder if there is a good product for this scenario.

I am very disappointed in these hangers. I bought several different sizes to show off my great-grandmother's unique porcelain. The hangers worked and looked fine for about a year then a plate and teacup saucer fell off the wall. After that I double checked all the cymbals and discs to make sure they are safe. I was encouraged by the many reviews of these turntables. I have ordered 3 times from 2 different sellers thinking it would be a great item. I followed the directions down to the letter "T" (cleaned the surface of the plate, mixed the glue very well with my finger and spread it around the edges, placed the disc on the plate and left it for 24 hours. From previous reviews it appears that there are conflicting opinions as to how this product works. I suspect the differences have to do with the type of surface the disc was mounted on. In my case I tried to hang a large decorative bowl. It was the specified weight and the area below was the same size as the disk. However, it's a very slick surface, which I felt was an issue.
