These are fantastic flame effect lamps! At first we couldn't figure out how to switch between modes - there's no button on the bulb itself. We found (accidentally) that if you turn the light off and on again, it cycles through different modes. This is very similar to our Philips scene switch lamps. Once we understood that, it became much clearer! I hope this helps others who couldn't figure out how to change the lighting style.

I love these flickering bulbs, but they all have the same downsides: I had to look away) and they're not bright enough to replace the light on the stem. Flickering speed seems to be a common complaint, both with these lights and the garlands of magical light I've complained about. Our Chinese friends should heed this and reduce (or regulate) the speed. They're good as distance accents - but they need to be distanced. They're cheap enough for you to experiment with. These lights have good flame movement. They're also bright compared to other flickering or glowing bulbs I've seen. They move a little fast, but not to the point where the effect is ruined. Only complaint about the shape and size of the bulb. If you use them where the bulb is visible, they don't look good. If they are hidden from direct view there is no problem.
