Simple and easy to read

I got this device to see which outlets in my house are grounded and is a GFCI outlet. It is simple to use as the color code is written on the device. You simply plug in the device and the colors will light up immediately. It will only work on outlets with 3 prongs.My only con with this is the packaging. It comes in those really hard to open clam shell packaging. You still need a scissor or knife to open this.

  • Requires access to a grounded extension cord for testing

Good Name Brand Outlet Tester

This Fluke receptacle tester functions as expected, and it's a pretty simple tool. I try to only buy electrical testing equipment from trusted name brands due to the risk involved, and Fluke is at the top of my list for that. I've never received a product from them that I was unhappy with. Works great! in my review

I ordered this to test outlets in our new build. This is easy to use and works with just plugging it in. We want to eventually change some of the outlets to be smart outlets and want this as a tool to test our work to ensure we did it correctly. I'm happy with this tester and would order it again.

Great tester-- not for tight areas

So this tester works great, and helped me identify some incorrectly wired outlets in my home. My only criticism is that in order to have a large readable face, the tester does not fit into tight corners.

Fluke, enough said!

Extremely easy to use. Has a button that checks to see if GFCI is functioning and also has a switch that will output a sound if the circuit is energized. Price is great, and is a very trustworthy brand.
