The product I received was not new. I wiped mine with alcohol because I noticed grease stains on the vest. I actually ended up rubbing out some pretty decent scratches and dents with a marker or black marker, exposing the bare metal. Looks like they tried to cover it up with permanent marker and pass it off as new. Some of the plastic buckles were scratched and frayed. Well for the price I love it! The materials are ok but the quality control is not. My vest arrived with some screws. Not very reassuring when you put a lot of money into it. That being said, check and tighten all the screws and you should be fine! I had a Tiffen arm and vest that cost nearly four times as much. and let me tell you The Tiffen vest wasn't that good! As the owner of real SteadiCams, I have to say that I really like this device. My SteadiCam is rated for up to 30 pounds. However, with gimbals, DSLRs, and smartphones, the payload is around 5 pounds when fully loaded with extras like lights, mics, AV transmitters, etc. My SteadiCam is far too powerful. Big complaint. The yellow springs (the lightest) were processed incorrectly. When I installed them, the first spring fitted well. The 2nd spring when I installed the barrel seal that goes in the spring can tap a little to remove and install it uh. There was a cone in the hole on the 2nd spring that wasn't noticed until I put the bushing in and pinned it. I had to cut open the sleeve to get it out and put it back together with the pieces I had at home. I didn't need the yellow springs so I threw
