Not everything I had hoped for.

Somewhat disappointed, must be a trick to thread the needles correctly. Sometimes I had trouble looping the thread with the same needle and thread.

Great needles for self-threading!

I have bought these needles before and I really like them. These are the best threading needles I have ever found and purchased due to their fine texture on both the top and bottom. They glide easily over many types of fabric without snagging or pulling the thread out of the needle.

Pros
  • Needle Threader
Cons
  • Interchangeable

Very useful best in Needle Threader

Needle threading is becoming increasingly difficult and recently I had to ask my teenage daughter to help me with this simple task. So I looked at Revain for big eye needles and came across these "self-threading needles". They are much easier to thread than regular needles. You simply thread the needle into the small U-shaped hole until you feel it snap into the eye. This also takes a little while, but at least I don't need any more help.

Cons
  • Socket Required

Threading Needles

Since I was having a hard time seeing the eye of the threading needle I thought they would be great when I saw them in the video. They work but are a bit sensitive to thread slippage. If you can't see how to thread a needle and your needle is too big to fit in a needle threading machine (they are great for smaller needles and are $13). The needles were inexpensive and worked to the point. You need to make sure the thread is snug at the bottom to make sure it stays in place.

Cons
  • High Price

Metal breaks thread

I have been using self threading needles/top insert needles for many years but this is my first time buying Fons & Porter. I've never seen these needles literally snap/cut the thread when you try to load it into the top self-threading space. Not sure what's wrong with this design, but after trying 3 needles and snapping the thread on each needle a few times, I threw the whole pack in the trash. I even pulled out another thread. Tested on my old needles. You were fine. I am very disappointed…
