Best Quality Tent /

Thought the reviews were too good to be true. I have the black diamond, the north face, and now this tent. To be honest, this tent is also my new one. If weight/package isn't a concern, this tent is phenomenal. I bought this earlier this year simply because I was looking for the best everyday camping tent that wouldn't break the bank. Took it in a mountain valley where the weather is very variable and windy and this thing has held up beautifully. Blocks the wind, stays dry inside if it rains…

Unique design took a long time

It said 'unique design', they weren't kidding! This tent was so unique that it took longer to put up and take down, requiring a lot more strength and multiple bumps and knocks because the poles are connected to a large frame. Other tents usually have 3 pole sets, 2 poles for the tent frame and 1 pole for the canopy. With this tent, everything is integrated into a single frame. Of course it has a unique design and to be honest it was designed in such a way that assembling, removing and attaching

Survived winter storm

Have used this tent on 2 separate camping trips to date and have been incredibly satisfied Trip 1: 15 hour winter storm - rain and snow showers. Our tent withstood wind and rain - we were completely dry. Three of our friends got flooded in their tents and one of them had to gather in the middle and leave because of it. Tour 2: very good weather, so we took off rain protection and mesh roof on the second night. loved gazing at the stars before bed. What else sets this tent apart: 1. It's compact

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Damaged

Smell of fish in tents and shelters

Edit October 19, 2020 It's been a few months since I wrote this and now I've put this tent to the test. The fishy smell I noticed initially went away after a few minutes of sun exposure, so it wasn't an issue. It was very overwhelming at first, but quickly dissipated and never returned. The tent poles had to be replaced almost immediately as they could get bent with even the slightest effort. The good thing about them, however, is how light and compact they are. If you get this tent, be sure to

First impression - great entry-level tent

This is based on first impressions only as it has not actually been used at night or on the trail, only during initial setup. I will update this as soon as it is used. I do workshops for beginners and novice hikers who are just starting out or interested in mountaineering and one of the biggest questions is how much does it cost? Obviously, most people aren't going to go out and spend a ton of money on something they don't know they're going to like, so I started putting together some modest…

  • Sturdy workmanship
Cons
  • Unnecessary features
