Smell of fish in tents and shelters

Edit October 19, 2020 It's been a few months since I wrote this and now I've put this tent to the test. The fishy smell I noticed initially went away after a few minutes of sun exposure, so it wasn't an issue. It was very overwhelming at first, but quickly dissipated and never returned. The tent poles had to be replaced almost immediately as they could get bent with even the slightest effort. The good thing about them, however, is how light and compact they are. If you get this tent, be sure to pick up better prices. Nonetheless, 4 stars seems right to me. Original Review: When I first opened this I was greeted with a strong smell of fish. I opened it up to see if there was any contamination that could be the cause and found nothing. I'm waiting for a sunny day to put it in the garden to air and I'm hoping it goes away because anyway the smell is so strong I doubt I'll be able to sleep in this thing. However, it was easy to take off and put back on, which is better than most tents I've had. It also feels solid and looks pretty easy to assemble. The stakes are all solid, so it takes a bit of digging to find the right one, and the stakes actually have points to make them easier to drive into the ground, although I think I'll eventually want to replace them if they do change *feel* a little thin. . (I can't tell how many cheaper tents I've seen with simple metal poles with no cones.)
