I live in a snowy climate where snow removal from cars usually damages the antenna. This item is very easy to install but does not come with a real antenna. Please note that you need to purchase these separately.

Worked well. Ease of installation. I held the top while using my right hand to screw the Tory screw into the machine. Shorter arms may not do. The only thing I didn't like was the black gasket that is supposed to seal the mount to keep out rain. Looks too thin to fit snugly on the car roof.

My 2005 Ford Focus antenna broke during a winter storm. The threaded bolt broke and the socket became unusable. I ordered a replacement antenna and this base unit. It arrived in the original Ford OEM packaging. After a YouTube session on how to properly replace it, I grabbed the necessary tools and headed to the car. The work was completed in less than half an hour. The radio reception is excellent again and I am satisfied.

This base does not lay flat on the roof panel like the original base. There is a small gap between this part and the roof on the back of the base. the space is about 0.015 inch high and extends about 1/2 inch on each side from the center back of the base. It seems to be working fine and I'll see if it causes any rainwater or ice problems (next winter). }. I hope there will be no problems as there is a gasket attached to the underside of the base.
