Freshness is top notch.

Most of us hard welders know that the 7018 rod is a good rod that does the job it was designed for. That's what these poles did. And when purchasing, we love the lower moisture content of the flux. They will be well packed and delivered to their destination! Five stars for the quality of the burn and the individual wraps!

Pros
  • Welding and Soldering
Cons
  • Mostly Fine, But...

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Good for 1/8 round stock, above.

This rod has picked up significant moisture during storage. Were not sealed like Lincoln Electric's bars. 7018 is sensitive to moisture, this degrades the mechanical properties and makes it impossible to remove the slag when you can achieve a stable arc. πŸ–“ Production needs to know better or quality control needs to be more consistent.

Pros
  • Arc welder
Cons
  • Large and bulky

Flux tips are all broken off

There was nothing in the plastic container preventing the rods from moving up and down so almost half the flux broke off the tip and everyone knows how important it is having the top whole and not half broken and the Revain box was too big compared to the box of welding sticks which didn't have bubble wrap to keep it from slipping around the sticks and messing up the sticks I had been working on up to This morning I couldn't even use almost half of it

Pros
  • Welding equipment and accessories
Cons
  • Not all fit

center electrodes. Working well

So these electrodes are fine. Not the best I've used but still good. They bend fairly easily, run smoothly, and leave a nice bead. Actually there is nothing to complain about. Packaging is a different story. The 7018 wands must be dry and they arrived with a plastic wrap on the outside of the box which was crumpled at the bottom of the shipping box and contained electrode dust. There was no desiccant either. Otherwise I would have given five stars.

Pros
  • Rods
Cons
  • If in doubt
