Forney 70508 Parts Cleaning Brush, Plastic Handle with Carbon Steel Bristles, 10-1/2-Inch, Green Review

I bought these to clean a bunch of old, greasy starters and alternators for repair. I bought two thinking I might need two, but they are very durable and wash well. I have cleaned 8 units and the brush cleans almost like new.

Excellent brush with hard plastic or nylon (?) bristles for descaling. It may not be suitable for small complex parts (small engine carburetor) but is excellent for cleaning parts. The bristles are stiff so they help with cleaning. The handle is smooth and comfortable. I liked it so much that I bought a second one to clean the ash off my Kamado Joe.

I bought this to clean the heads on a motorcycle. After 15 minutes of use, the bristles began to curl and no longer reached into the ribs. Used car wash and left the brush in the bucket for about 10 minutes before removing it and all the bristles fell out of the brush handle? I can only imagine how it will hold up with real cleaning solvent!

I don't know what I think of the plastic handle. There's something reassuring about the feel of a wooden handle. The tip is acceptable, I don't see any problems with it, and the bristles are just what I'm used to. Not sure how this brush compares to other brushes, but it's worth considering if you just like the weight and feel of a wooden handle.

Easy to clean, quite hard, the bristles are collected in a metal sleeve attached to a round handle. The bud fell apart completely when I left it in a bucket of diluted parts cleaner overnight. I thought it would be stronger with the Forney brand but alas you get what you pay for! My Harbor Freight brush of the same type, also left in the same bottle overnight, did not fall apart. Next time I will find a real high performance version and pay more.
