Salt shaker arrived damaged. There was a huge chip around the rim where a piece of marble had chipped off which is a shame as the basement is beautiful and the handle on the lid makes it easy to remove. However, I will not be returning it for a replacement as at 3 inches it is not wide enough for my hand to easily grab the salt. May be useful for a child or a very petite woman, but I need at least an extra inch. Don't let the French wording fool you. The product is made in Taiwan.

I ordered this because using the glass jar to store the 'Real Salt' we use made me nauseous. I wanted something more practical and with a better aesthetic. Proper storage of salt is not a must on my priority list. It certainly wasn't a necessity, but more of a nice touch to make cooking a little rewarding. It is very durable and of high quality. This should take forever. I washed it quickly and dried it thoroughly before using it. It will be a great gift for the hostess or even for yourself.
