Free Country Plus-size Hybrid Winter Coat Review

Although it is very cute, it hardly fits. I ordered a small one and it is very small! I ordered this with a coat for a little boy, same coat just a different size. I also ordered little boys in a small size. EXACTLY the same size, only the big boys sleeves are longer. So one baby is too small and the other one is too big :( The material and the rest of the coat(s) seems good.

Nice jacket, good quality - unlined - not for very cold temperatures. Basically a good light jacket for spring/fall or in our case great for winter FL. Shipping was fast and my boys love wearing it - they tell me it's comfortable. I have a 5 year old and a 7 year old and I bought a size 8. The sleeves are a bit longer on the 5 year old - otherwise it works great!

For the price and the description I thought I would buy a warm winter coat for my sons. It arrived today and it's THIN. I would call it a light jacket - definitely not a winter coat. It seems to be amazing quality for what it is - great construction and materials, but it's not heavy and doesn't look like it will protect against extreme cold/wind. To return.

Very impressed with this product for the price. We use it here in Australia as a waterproof fishing jacket and it's perfect for that. Fits well - maybe a little big for my 8 year old boy but I bought a size a little larger than I expected and he is tall and wiry.

It is called a winter coat. I don't think it will be warm enough for a Wisconsin winter. It is enough as a spring-autumn jacket. My son loves it and it fits well but I feel cheated because it says it's a winter jacket and from the photo it's hard to tell how thin it really is.

It came on time. I have never bought clothes online because I need to see and feel the fabric before I buy it. I am very meticulous about navigating and checked every seam, every stitch, every underarm to make sure everything is fine before passing it on to my son and he absolutely loves his new jacket! Exactly as it was in the picture. Will buy again next year when it's little. I will definitely order from this seller again! 5 Stars!

Fits as expected. I bought this as a fall jacket for my 7 year old son. He is long and lanky and 51 inches tall. Hands just above his nails. The length of the jacket covers his bottom. It will be perfect by the time the snow starts flying. The color is nice and bright and the fabric is very flexible. for an active child. I think we will last a year for 2 of this jacket! Thanks.

I bought size 20 for my son. It fits, but it's a little tighter than I expected. This is definitely not a winter coat as described. It's thin and the lining isn't warm or soft. This is great for a boy who seems to get warm easily like my son. I would buy it again, just not as a winter coat.

NO WINTER COAT. I was so excited to find a coat (as advertised) at this price that I didn't read the reviews. Shame on me I know. It's still a really good jacket and keeps my son warm in this fall weather. But it's not a winter coat, the advert is wrong, so it gets one star.

Great basic coat for our son in a wheelchair. He cannot wear swollen or bulky clothes comfortably because they interfere with using a chair. Living in an area of the US where it's cold enough to warrant a heavy coat for at least half a year, this was a great addition to his wardrobe.

Nice jacket but runs small. My 12 year old son wears sizes 14-16 most of the time. He is tall for his age and very thin. Size 14/16 was too small for him.

This is a clam. Don't expect extra insulation. He needs a hoodie or something underneath for extra warmth. I haven't decided yet whether to return or not.

I was looking for a winter coat and it looked like it would be very warm but it wasn't. It has the same consistency as a windbreaker, but doesn't warm at all. I would buy this jacket if I'm looking for something for fall, but certainly not for winter.

Loved the coat but runs small. I ordered a size 10-12 for my tall 10 year old and it barely fit. Return in a larger size for a different style. Otherwise a very nice coat, although my child didn't like that the sleeves weren't fully lined/lined. Just a private matter. This is DEFINITELY not going to be a really warm winter coat, but we were looking for a fall/seasonal coat that would fit under the t-shirt.

Not what you would expect from a thick winter coat. It's very easy. It would actually be better for a fall or spring jacket. And we have mild winters and that's certainly not appropriate for this time of year. It's a bit small. My son usually wears a 14/16 or 14/16 and this fits perfectly despite being X-Large. He definitely won't be able to wear it next year so I bought it. :( Okay, we will use it as long as possible (maybe 3 months) and then donate.
