Frigidaire FBA_ULTRAWF Filter Inches White Review

Usually these filters work fine but I've had TWO bad ones in the same order. As I put them in and went through the cleaning process, black particles of something appeared in the original stream of water. I poured 10-15 regular pitchers of water to get rid of the "baking soda" taste that comes with the new filters. Even after the taste was ok, the water remained cloudy - really unappetizing. The photo shows tap water on the left and "filtered” water on the right. Pooh!

My water was fine until I installed this filter. I poured many liters of water in it and the water is still cloudy. Not the murky air that becomes clear if you let it stand, but dirty murky air. I ordered and installed this filter in October 2016. On arrival and installation everything was fine. It is now 1/6/2017. My water started to taste metallic, almost like rust in my water. I threw away all the ice thinking it might be burnt ice from the freezer. Still bad tasting water. So I put in a new water filter, although it hasn't even been 6 months and my fridge hasn't told me to change the filter. Presto! Good water again. So this filter wasn't enough for 6 months. Edited Review: I wanted to return this as the water was cloudy even after a day of non-stop water flushing. However, I could not remove the filter as the ice dispenser requires a filter. So I ordered another filter directly from Frigidaire.com. While waiting for another filter, we continued to use the ice maker and water dispenser. I do a lot of gardening and use a hydroponic system, so I regularly do PH tests and balance the PH of my hydro system.
