Captures above-average photos that require little or no post-processing. Get up close with the 15x zoom. I don't know how to use panorama mode, but it has more to do with my skills than the camera. The menu can be confusing but if you search well everything is there.

This would be a good camera if the battery didn't work terribly. The battery appears to be draining even when the camera is not in use. So if you take it to a special event and don't use it for a month, it can be empty within half an hour of use. This is very bad because the image quality, focusing speed and delay between shots are very good.

I think camera prices are just out of control these days. everything and the brother carries huge cameras and lenses with him. heck, this little guy who fits comfortably in my jeans pocket lets me take better photos than most. I first became acquainted with the EXR line when I bought the F200 and because of that experience I later bought the F500. While I liked the 500, I had one major complaint. The built-in flash pops up automatically when the camera is turned on. If you don't need the flash, you have to manually lower the flash.
