Beware of greenwashing companies. I bought them and nowhere on the packaging does it say they are plastic either. Their website says it's made from recycled plastic and walnut shells. This product cannot be recycled or composted, so it is just as harmful as these greens.

I love these walnut sponges. They're good enough to loosen dried food from plates. They really take some getting used to as they don't seem to clean as effectively as synthetic based products. But I'd rather use them knowing that all the little bits of fermentation pads that wear out during use are biodegradable. I was concerned that synthetic-based products wear out, which means small pieces of synthetic material get washed down the drain and eventually end up in our rivers and oceans. These…

I've been using these sponges for over a year now and I absolutely love them! I will never go back to plain plastic, disgusting. These walnut scrubbers last a long time, even if they start to look ugly after a while... they still get the job done! I mostly use them for washing dishes in the kitchen, but they're great for cleaning grout and tiles in the shower and don't fall apart like those nasty regular sponges that leave residue and microplastics everywhere.
