My favorite socks are in the outdoor clothing category

I loved the socks until today I pulled one out of the drawer which was completely torn along the first three fingers of the seam after washing. They were delivered on January 4th so are only 6 weeks old. I work at a desk, no manual work or anything. Knocked me unconscious. I hope the other 5 socks last longer. For the price I would have expected better durability.

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Price

Me and my smelly feet

This is the second time I've bought these socks. They were very good for my feet. I wear boots and ride my motorbike for many hours and sometimes 2/3 days without changing my socks. They made my feet more comfortable than others I've used. They wear out quicker than cotton socks, but the benefits are worth it. They fit well and don't slip when walking. However, unlike Burlington socks, they slip off too easily when I take my boots off.

Pros
  • Top marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Legacy

Poor quality that only gets worse

DO NOT buy these socks. At first it seemed to me that the quality is a little lower than that of the competition. I love Merino wool socks, I just wear them. I have washed these socks several times along with a dozen other Merino wool socks and now they are very uncomfortable. They are difficult to put on and make a noise when I try to put my foot in. I strongly recommend switching to another brand. I like the ones I bought from Meriwool.

Pros
  • Best in their niche
Cons
  • So-so

Excellent wool socks at price

Nice medium weight wool socks. They are warm, comfortable and durable. I like them so much that I bought more. I work outside in Wisconsin winter and have no complaints about these socks. Some other wool socks are so bulky that they don't fit in my boots and make my feet sweat. The last thing I want is wet feet and socks at work all day. These socks breathe well and are the best for my use. They can also be machine washed. I air dry them to prevent shrinkage.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Nice socks but I doubt it's wool.

Seems to be of high quality, but I strongly doubt the proportion of wool. I have Rothco Military Wool socks that are 60% wool and my feet never get cold in them. I've used them this season and so far my feet have gotten cold pretty quickly in work boots. They are soft, moderately warm and sit well on the leg, but in deep snow, unrivaled, after 10 minutes the legs begin to freeze. Half an hour later I'm looking for warmth. My Rothcos, I can stand in a snowdrift for a few hours.

Pros
  • makes joy
Cons
  • price piggy bank

Sorry Smartwool, meet your mate!

I've been wearing Smartwool socks for ten years and I've always lived with their high price because of their quality: they keep feet warm in winter and are adjustable and comfortable in spring and summer. But then I found them a few weeks ago and was amazed. The materials you'll find in Smartwool are the same as these Fun Toes, except they contain more Merino wool (67% vs. 80%). They feel and warm my feet without making them sweat like good wool, but they're half the price. If you are a…

Not as well done as before. Inner coat variable/itchy

I bought some of them in 2017 and wore them all winter. The wool inside consisted of small loops of woolen thread threaded through the inner layer of the sock. It was the perfect design and the socks were warm, comfortable and didn't itch. I liked them so much that I ordered another pair in December 2018. The new ones look similar but after wearing them a few times. I once noticed that they are not very comfortable and irritate my skin. When I looked at the wool inside the socks, I noticed that

Nice socks but I doubt it's wool.

Appears to be well made but I seriously doubt the wool content. I have Rothco Military Wool socks that are 60% wool and my feet never get cold in them.
