I ordered 3XL for our 42lb Siberian Husky because she sleeps LONG. It will depend on other roles. The bed arrived rolled up, compressed and sealed. It has a lid that fits over the foam for hygiene reasons. I suggest using a blanket if your dog gets too hot on a foam bed. The foam was already covered by the outer fabric.
